      <image:caption>Matt began his fitness journey at 19 years old as he fell in love with the sport of bodybuilding. While a full-time college schedule and part-time work made things more complicated, he remained dedicated to his training routine and nutrition regimen. Less than one year after he started bodybuilding, Matt competed in his first-ever bodybuilding competition and placed first in several divisions. Matt knew he wanted to make fitness a permanent part of his life and future career. After graduating from college in Vermont, Matt moved to Texas, where he would spend a semester studying Nutrition Science at Texas State University. During his time studying at Texas State, he felt ready to take his love and passion for fitness to the next level and started Heavy Mettle Fitness in the spring of 2019. Matt began training with clients as he felt inspired to help others find their passion for fitness and healthy living, much like he had years before.
